Microsoft says goodbye to Internet Explorer 6

Microsoft today celebrate the death of decade-old Internet Explorer 6 web browser. According to the latest data from Net applications, IE6 usage was down to under 1 per cent in the US, following Austria, Poland, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and Norway. The use also declined 1 percent in the nearby Czech Republic, Mexico, Ukraine, Portugal, and the Philippines.

Capriotti grateful IE6 Countdown partner to help with the process and in this new year, he calls on more people to make resolutions for IE6 and moved into something more modern like IE8 or IE9. This is news that would have been accepted for developers, who now have one less obsolete web browsers to worry about supporting. However, developers in China will be facing this problem for a while longer because of 15.7 percent of computer users there are still running IE6.
